Euronaval: Rolls-Royce focuses on ship propulsion and autonomy

Rolls-Royce is showcasing its propulsion and power generation solutions for naval platforms, with a particular focus on the development of autonomous vessels. In September, the UK firm obtained certification for its mtu Series 4000 and Series 2000 diesel engines for use in U.S. Navy autonomous vessel operations. This certification paves the way for 30-day deployments at sea without human intervention, maintenance or repairs.

The group is also presenting its mtu NautIQ ship automation solutions, which provide real-time monitoring of on-board equipment, as well as its MT30 gas turbine.
